Adopting a Family

Adopting a family with PVCP is a rewarding way to help in our community. We partner with businesses, organizations, and individuals who will help with the needs of an entire family.

How it works:

PVCP provides 3 gifts to each child under 17 in the household, each in the $20 range.

We will provide you with the child's age and gender, and some ideas that have been given to us by the child's grown-up.

Gifts for adults in the home are not required, though you may choose to provide them.

Some families have a family "wish list" that you are welcome to consider, but this is also not required.

Expected Cost:

About $60-70 per child in the home

Shoe size: 2 Big Kid
Clothing size: Girls 8/10

Boy, Age 6

Nerf football, board games, loves Spiderman
Shoe size: 13T
Clothing size: Boys 5/6

Family Requests:

Pillows, kitchen rug

PVCP provides each family with pantry staples. We prioritize this over one large Christmas dinner, though you are welcome to provide that as well.

You will receive a suggested grocery list with Staples, Nice to Haves, and Extras, along with any allergies that the family communicated.

We try to provide enough food to get the family through to the new year, which may be a little more than normal with kids home on break and not receiving meals at school.

Between food and household items, we find this can run between $40-50 per person.

PVCP provides each family with hygiene items (shampoo, soap, toilet paper) and household supplies (dish soap, laundry detergent, paper towels).

We provide you with a sample shopping list to get started from. If you have younger kids in your adopted family, we will also provide you diaper sizes.

These items can't be purchased using SNAP funds so families really appreciate these.
